Much needed funds to be utilized for Childhood Breakfast Program

The Placer Food Bank  is excited to receive a $23,355.88 grant from the Albertsons Companies Foundation and Entertainment Industry from their Hunger Is initiative to eradicate childhood hunger.

The funds from this generous grant will be used to provide breakfast meals in Placer Food Banks popular School Backpack program at the following three schools: First Street, Woodbridge and
Rock Creek.

“We’re excited to have these foundations supporting the work we do each day to help local kids start their day with a good, nutritious meal,” said Dave Martinez, Executive Director, Placer Food Bank.  “We know how these foundations sets  high standards for its Hunger Is grant recipients because the grants go only to organizations that have the greatest impact on fighting childhood hunger. We’re proud to be part of that recipient group and thank their customers for helping us continue to make a difference in the lives of children in the communities we serve.
