Granite Oaks
Homeowners - Ruby & Frank Andrews
Located on 1.2 acres, Granite Oaks is well-named, given the granite outcroppings and many quirky oaks. Ruby, gardener extraordinaire, has spent the last four years making this a special and inviting place. Plantings consist of Japanese maples, evergreens, perennials, roses, grasses and many other unusual plants.

Note the water features and special rock placement in many areas, along with Hiro Matsuda’s bonsai trees.

Robert Frayre brought attention to detail in the creation of this lovely garden.

The enjoyment of a garden is a gift to be treasured.

The Courtyard Garden
Homeowners - Bob & Carol Parrish
The focus of our garden is a central courtyard surrounded by a Tuscan colonnade, creating a tranquil and private sanctuary. The inspiration stems from houses in my family beginning in 1932 and was popularized by noted architect Cliff May, who designed Sunset Magazine’s Menlo Park headquarters. Almost 3,000 square feet of covered patio provides year-round usage, including cooking, dining, and relaxing by the fireplace.

We have planted 20 citrus, a prolific avocado tree, a multi-variety pear tree, two pomegranate bushes and several peach trees. A wisteria tree provides a striking feature at the base of a large rock outcropping. Over fifty potted plants distribute color and foliage throughout the courtyard and entrance.

A pool, spa and koi pond in the courtyard, surrounded by native boulders, make water a central feature. All water features and the sound system are controlled by panels located throughout the house.

Lakeview Garden
Homeowner - John Britton
A gorgeous view rewards the visitor following a steep climb up the driveway. On the way up, note the plantings, outcroppings and beautiful fountain.

The back entry gate leads the visitor to a magnificent garden with a view of Folsom Lake.

Enjoy a panorama of the gardens, pools, lake and parklands beyond from a large covered veranda.

Terracing enhances the display of roses and other plantings.

A stroll down the lawn leads to a path, potting areas, vegetable gardens and even more spectacular views.

The English Garden
Homeowners - Tina & Rick Ford
The fountains and boxwoods are a welcoming sight as you enter this multi-terraced garden. You will see over 100 rosebushes, trees, and vines - many added by the Fords during the seven years they have owned the home. Wander through the arbors and enjoy the various living areas.

Jardin des Roses
Homeowners - Bobbi & Dick Nathanson
Our garden in Los Lagos never fails to amaze us. It has evolved over the past 20 years; Ron Allison, landscape architect, created the original design in 1996. Over time, many of the older plants have been replaced with a variety of roses. This garden comes to life in the spring and summer with a riot of color and fragrance. Every day the color changes, keeping you guessing.

The pool pavilion has a full kitchen and a triple fireplace that keeps us warm after the sun goes down. Our love of art flows into the garden making it a special place. We are looking forward to sharing our colorful canvas with you.

Tranquil Gardens
Homeowners - Kathy & Wayne Baron
We have been stewards of the garden for the past six years. The yard came to us with such "good bones" that we decided to have our wedding here. Over the past six years we have added a koi pond, hundreds of plants, bushes, and trees, while improving water efficiency. We have planted many varieties of roses, hydrangeas, camellias, as well as exotic Japanese maples, conifers, dogwoods, fruit trees, shrubs, and a vegetable and kitchen herb garden. The garden provides four seasons of abundant flowers, fruit, color, and hours of fun for the family dogs. Water features include the koi pond with multiple waterfalls and a swimming pool reminiscent of an alpine pond. The native oak canopy offers abundant shade and dappled sunlight throughout the yard, giving us many inviting areas for seating, socializing and quiet introspection.
