Red Nose Day contributes to Placer Food Bank with generous 10k grant to benefit school back pack program

ROSEVILLE, CA  ­–  Placer Food Bank is proud to share the news that Red Nose Day has awarded a generous grant in the amount of $10,000 to help the organization’s mission to fight childhood hunger in the communities of Placer, El Dorado and Nevada counties.red Nose logo

The recent grant award from Red Nose Day will support Placer Food Bank’s Back Pack Program Nearly 18,000 children in Placer County alone suffer from food insecurity and are often uncertain where their next meal will come from. Five years ago, the Placer Food Bank launched its local back pack program which is part of the organization’s rapidly growing Feed Our Future Program.

The $10,000 grant award from Red Nose Day will assist Placer Food Bank in providing thousands of area school children with healthy foods to take home before the weekends and holiday breaks to fill the gap when school lunches are not available on a daily basis.
